ELECTROCHEM GHANA WELCOMES DEPUTY MINISTER OF MINES, HON. GEORGE MIREKU DUKER, FOR A WORKING VISIT

Electrochem Ghana Limited had the honor of hosting the Deputy Minister of Mines, Hon. George Mireku Duker, during a significant working visit to our operations in Ada. As an esteemed Oil, Gas, and Mining Governance expert, the Minister’s presence underscored the importance of our continued efforts in pioneering sustainable and responsible salt mining practices within the industry.

During the visit, Hon. Duker and his entourage were given a comprehensive tour of our industrial site, where they witnessed firsthand the advanced technologies and innovations driving our operations. The highlight of the visit was an in-depth look at our state-of-the-art washing plant, which exemplifies our commitment to efficiency and environmental stewardship. The Minister was particularly impressed by the meticulous processes in place, which align with global best practices in the industry.

Beyond the technological showcase, Hon. Duker expressed his admiration for the numerous social interventions and sustainability initiatives undertaken by Electrochem Ghana. He commended our efforts in improving the lives of the people in the Ada community, highlighting our projects in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and livelihood support. These initiatives, he noted, are a testament to our dedication to fostering long-term socio-economic development in the region. The Minister also praised Electrochem for its local content programming, particularly the inclusion of a queen mother and indigenous people of Ada in the Sustainability Programs Department, ensuring that our community engagement is both inclusive and culturally attuned.

In his remarks, Hon. Duker advised Electrochem Ghana to take a cue from other leading mining companies by establishing a Trust Fund for the Ada community. Such a fund, he suggested, would serve as a sustainable mechanism to ensure that the benefits derived from our operations continue to support the community for generations to come. The Minister’s recommendation aligns with our ongoing strategy to enhance our CSR framework and deepen our impact on the communities we serve.

At Electrochem Ghana, we are deeply committed to the responsible extraction of natural resources and the socio-economic development of our host communities. Hon. Duker’s visit not only reinforces our resolve but also provides us with valuable insights as we strive to set new standards in the mining sector. We express our profound gratitude to the Minister and his team for their time, advice, and encouragement.

As we continue to expand our operations, Electrochem Ghana remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of safety, innovation, and community engagement, ensuring that our work benefits both our stakeholders and the people of Ghana.
